Iran, China, and Russia have conducted a joint naval drill, showcasing their military strength and commitment to strategic cooperation under the exercise named Maritime Security Belt 2025.
Analysts suggest that this exercise serves as a strong message against U.S. military influence, signaling the formation of a new alliance.
According to CNN, the joint naval exercise, Maritime Security Belt 2025, was held near Iran’s Chabahar Port on Monday (March 10, local time). Iran deployed advanced missile corvettes and patrol ships for the drill.
The Iranian naval forces participated in strategic operations alongside Chinese and Russian warships. Additionally, military representatives from ten countries, including South Africa, Azerbaijan, Pakistan, and Oman, attended as observers.
Organizers stated that the exercise aimed to strengthen military capabilities in strategic areas, enhance maritime security, and bolster mutual cooperation. The drills included precision strike training, ship infiltration and search operations, as well as rescue missions.
However, analysts view this exercise as more than just military drills; they interpret it as a clear signal of a new power alliance challenging U.S. dominance.
Despite the geopolitical implications, former U.S. President Donald Trump reportedly dismissed concerns over the exercise.
However, international analysts argue that such drills in strategic waterways like the Gulf of Oman and the Strait of Hormuz could pressure Western powers.
Given that nearly one-fourth of the world’s oil supply passes through this region, any shift in influence could pose a significant challenge for the United States.
