Transformer Explosion Kills Three in Bandarban

Three Mro women, including two from the same family, have died from electrocution following a transformer explosion in Bandarban.

The incident occurred early Monday morning in Ranglai Headman Para, located at the 13-mile point of Bandarban's Chimbuk Road.

The deceased have been identified as Tumle Mro (17), daughter of Renthen Mro; Urkan Mro (71), wife of Parao Mro; and Rawleng Mro (35), wife of Merao Mro.

Details of the Incident
According to police and local residents, an electrical transformer near the village exploded. At the time, three Mro women, including two from the same family, became entangled in the live wires and were electrocuted. Locals managed to take one victim to Bandarban Sadar Hospital, but the bodies of the other two remain at the scene.

Rangrao Mro, president of the market committee at the 12-mile point on Chimbuk Road, confirmed the incident, stating that three Mro women died due to electrocution after a transformer exploded and its wires became electrified.

Bandarban Superintendent of Police, Md. Shahidullah Kawser, told the media, "Three Mro women have died from electrocution. One of them has been brought to Bandarban Sadar Hospital." He added that police have been dispatched to the scene to recover the bodies of the other two victims.
