Five people were electrocuted during Jagannath Dev's Rath Yatra in Bogura. Several others were taken to the hospital in critical condition.

The accident took place at Bogura Sadar on Sunday afternoon (July 7). Saihan Oliullah, in-charge of Bogura Sadar Police Station, confirmed the matter.
The deceased have been identified as Alok, Atshi, Naresh, Ranjita and another unidentified died in the hospital.

Saihan Oliullah said, 'The incident took place in the afternoon. So far 10 people have died. Several others are hospitalized in critical condition.'
Notably, the elaborate preparations, rituals, and the inclusive nature of Rath Yatra make it a significant cultural event.
