Chief Adviser Dr. Muhammad Yunus, head of the interim government, has stressed the need for greater visibility in the unity among anti-fascist political parties.
He stated that a more apparent display of their existing unity would be beneficial, as it would bring a sense of relief and satisfaction to the public, who are eager to see such solidarity.
Dr. Yunus made these remarks during an urgent meeting held on Tuesday, July 22, at his official residence, Yamuna.
The meeting brought together leaders from four prominent political parties: BNP, Jamaat-e-Islami, NCP, and Islami Andolon, to discuss the country's recent situation.
Following the meeting, Law Adviser Asif Nazrul briefed reporters on the discussions, describing them as having taken place in a "very cordial atmosphere."
According to Nazrul, the political parties explicitly informed the government that there is no disagreement or conflict among them regarding the anti-fascist alliance.
They affirmed their unanimous stance on confronting fascism.
Nazrul further noted that some participants acknowledged that, as part of the political process, they might occasionally criticize each other in the political arena.
However, they clarified that such instances do not signify political opposition but rather indicate that they are political allies.
These occasional statements should not be interpreted as a rift within the anti-fascist unity.
Additionally, the political parties urged the government to adopt a stronger stance on maintaining law and order.
The BNP, specifically, emphasized the importance of proceeding fairly with the electoral process.
