The written (MCQ) examination for the 48th Special BCS will be held today, Friday, July 18, at various centers across Dhaka. The exam will take place from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM.
According to instructions from the Public Service Commission (PSC), candidates must be present at their respective examination centers between 8:00 AM and 9:30 AM. Entry to the center will not be permitted after the designated time.
Examinees are only allowed to bring their admit card and a black ink ballpoint pen. Legal action will be taken against anyone found with prohibited items.
Sources from the Bangladesh Public Service Commission (PSC) indicate that a total of 3,000 doctors will be appointed through this special BCS, with 2,700 as Assistant Surgeons and 300 as Assistant Dental Surgeons.
The 200-mark written examination will be in MCQ format. It will consist of 100 marks for Medical Science and 100 marks for General Subjects. The General Subjects section will be divided into six parts: Bengali, English, Bangladesh and International Affairs, Mental Ability, and Mathematical Reasoning.
Candidates who pass this written examination will have the opportunity to participate in a 100-mark viva voce (oral) examination.
The government has initiated this special BCS to expedite appointments and address the shortage of doctors. The PSC has stated that it is taking the utmost precautions to ensure the overall security and fair environment of the examination.
