During a recent visit to Morocco, Asif Mahmud Shojib Bhuyain, Youth and Sports Adviser, met with Dr. Salim M. AlMalik, Director-General of ICESCO (Islamic World Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization).
Asif Mahmud praised ICESCO's work in education, science, and culture, emphasizing Bangladesh's focus on youth development.
He proposed creating an "Islamic Culture and Language Centre" in Bangladesh with ICESCO's help and requested assistance in setting up Smart Classrooms.
Dr. AlMalik commended Bangladesh's youth and its financial contributions to ICESCO. He expressed willingness to collaborate on various projects, including involving Bangladeshi youth in ICESCO's educational and research programs.
He also praised Bangladesh's efforts in climate change and invited Bangladeshi experts to participate in ICESCO's initiatives, even offering a high-level position.
Additionally, he sought Bangladesh's help in expanding the Grameen Bank microcredit model in African member states.
Both parties were optimistic about future cooperation.
Following the meeting, Asif Mahmud visited an Islamic museum at ICESCO headquarters, suggesting that Bangladesh's cultural heritage could be featured there and expressing hope for a similar museum in Bangladesh.
