Fourteen high-ranking police officers have been temporarily suspended from their duties due to extended unauthorized absences from work. The suspensions, issued by the Public Security Division of the Ministry of Home Affairs, are based on charges of "desertion" under the Government Servants (Discipline and Appeal) Rules, 2018.

The suspended officers, who include three police superintendents, eight additional police superintendents, and two assistant police superintendents, will receive subsistence allowances during their suspension. The government stated that these actions were taken in the public interest.
