Prof Yunus explained that the younger generation aims to build a "new civilization," one that breaks away from the chains of self-destructive traditions. He highlighted that their main goal is to ensure equal access to the world's resources for everyone, provide everyone with the opportunity to dream and realize those dreams and develop human life in a way that does not harm the world or any living beings.

On Shaheed Dibosh and International Mother Language Day, the Chief Adviser expressed hope for the realization of the youth's dreams.

He congratulated the Ekushey Padak recipients, recognizing their contributions as the guiding force behind the nation's progress. "Inspired by your work, the nation is confident of a stronger future, with an ever-growing presence in global platforms such as the United Nations," he added.

Reflecting on the importance of Amar Ekushey, the Chief Adviser noted that this year, it carries special significance given the evolving circumstances in the country. "Ekushey February stands as a timeless symbol of the Bangalee people's self-identity," he said, recalling how, in 1952, the student community fought against the unjust decision of the Pakistani rulers regarding the state language. "They established Bangla as the state language, shedding their fresh blood on Dhaka's streets, igniting an awakening of the Bangalees’ sense of self-governance."

Following the address, Prof Yunus presented the Ekushey Padak to the awardees.

Cultural Affairs Adviser Mostofa Sarwar Farooki, Cabinet Secretary Dr Sheikh Abdur Rashid, and Cultural Affairs Secretary Md Mofidur Rahman also spoke at the event.

This year, 13 distinguished individuals, a four-member team from Avro Keyboard, and the Bangladesh Women's National Football Team were honoured with the Ekushey Padak-2025 for their outstanding contributions across various fields.
