Expatriates’ Welfare and Overseas Employment Minister Nurul Islam BSc commented that the rumor of stopping manpower export to Malaysia is totally false.
His comment came in the inaugural program of wage earners welfare board members registration for the expatriates in Kuala Lumpur on Monday.
After inauguration of the registration in Bangladesh High Commission the minister said, discussion will be held with Malaysian government after identifying different problems of expatriates in Malaysia.
The Expatriates’ Welfare Minister who is visiting Malaysia said, the present government has given the title ‘golden son’ to the expatriates. The workers under coverage of wage earners will get different facilities. If any worker under coverage of wage earners dies then relatives will get 35 thousand taka at the airport and later they will get three lakh taka. But expatriates’ welfare ministry should be informed before the dead body arrives in the country.
Nurul Islam BSc said, discussion will be held at the government level for sending more manpower in Malaysia. There are many problems of expatriates in Malaysia, we are trying to hold discussion after identifying those.
It is mentionable that the minister is scheduled to hold meeting with Malaysian government over manpower export.
The program presided over by Bangladesh High Commissioner in Malaysia Shahidul Islam and moderated by Labor Councilor Sayedul Islam. BMET Director General Selim Reza and Additiobal Secretary of expatriates’ welfare ministry Dr. Ahmed Munirus Salehin delivered speech on the occasion.
Officials of Bangladesh High Commission in Malaysia and leaders of Malaysia Awami League and it affiliated organizations were also present in the program.
