Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina emphasized on strengthening business for socio-economic development of Commonwealth countries.
Prime Minister made this statement while a delegation led by Commonwealth Enterprise and Investment Council (CWEIC) Deputy Chair Lord Hugo George William Swire went to meet the Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina yesterday evening at her official residence, Ganabhaban.
Prime Minister said, "Commonwealth countries should strengthen trade among themselves for socio-economic development purpose."
Apart from Commonwealth countries, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina also emphasized on developing strong business ties with non-Commonwealth countries, especially oil-rich Middle East countries such as Saudi Arabia and Qatar, Prime Minister's speech writer Md. Nazrul Islam quoting her as she saying.
Mr. Nazrul Islam said that the Prime Minister has been informed about the first 'Commonwealth Trade and Investment Forum' to be held in Dhaka on September 13-14.
Commonwealth Enterprise and Investment Council (CWEIC) will organize this forum to uplift trade and investment among Commonwealth countries including Bangladesh.
Prime Minister welcomed CWEIC to organize the forum.
