Former MP Naimur Rahman Durjoy Arrested

Former Member of Parliament for Manikganj-1 constituency and former captain of the Bangladesh national cricket team, Naimur Rahman Durjoy, has been arrested by the Detective Branch (DB) of the police.

He was arrested from the Lalmatia area of the capital on Wednesday (July 2) night.

Rezaul Karim Mallick, Additional Inspector General (DIG) of Dhaka Range Police, confirmed the matter, stating that multiple cases have been filed against Durjoy, including charges related to the August 5 incident.

He added that based on specific allegations and intelligence information, a detective team from Manikganj District Police arrested him from the Lalmatia area of the capital tonight. Legal action against him is currently underway.
